Pan Pan Restaurant

Located on St Clement's Street in Oxford, Pan Pan Restaurant brings a vibrant twist to Asian street food that’s hard to ignore. The moment you step in, the aroma of rich broths, sizzling stir-fries, and fragrant spices hits you with the promise of flavor-packed comfort food. It’s a go-to for anyone craving Southeast Asian classics or a refreshing twist on familiar favorites-all served in a warm, casual setting with wheelchair-accessible entry and seating.

One of the standout dishes is the Curry Laksa, a soulful bowl of spicy coconut soup with noodles and toppings that dance between Malaysian and Singaporean influences. It’s creamy, fiery, and ridiculously satisfying. Pair that with a glass of Saigon Beer or a Mango Milk Slush if you're skipping the alcohol-the drink menu is refreshingly eclectic. For something richer, the Beef Rendang hits the mark with slow-cooked tenderness and a flavor that’s deep, slightly sweet, and spiced just right.

Pan Pan Restaurant does an excellent job of blending different Asian cuisines. You can go from Japanese-style Beef Bibimbap to Korean Kimchi Mee Goreng, then jump into Thai-inspired Pad Thai Chicken or even Vietnamese Chicken Pho, all under one roof. There’s an international feel to the menu, but each dish keeps the integrity of its origin intact. The portions are generous without being overwhelming, making them perfect for both a quick bite or a satisfying dinner.

A personal favorite? The Roti Canai-flaky, buttery flatbread served with a dipping sauce that’s rich and savory. Add the Porky Belly Bao to your table for something handheld and flavorful, especially if you're into soft bao buns with crispy pork and tangy fillings. And for sides, don’t skip the Tobboki-Korean rice cakes in a spicy sauce that pack a punch of umami.

The dessert game here is no afterthought. Their Oreo Milk Tea or Bubble Tea lineup is a popular endnote to the meal, but if you prefer tea without the sugar overload, their tea selection is surprisingly extensive-ideal for those wanting something more calming to wrap up the experience. It’s clear the team takes dessert and drinks seriously, which rounds off the dining experience with a touch of indulgence or zen, depending on your mood.

While it’s well-loved for both lunch and dinner crowds, Pan Pan is also friendly to solo diners looking for a peaceful moment over a bowl of noodles or students on the go with a hearty takeaway. With no-contact delivery and a solid takeaway service, it caters to a broad range of dining habits. The vibe is unpretentious yet modern-think exposed brick, cozy booths, and a playlist that hums softly in the background without overpowering your conversation.

What also makes Pan Pan Restaurant stand out is the diversity in dietary options. You’ll find vegan and vegetarian dishes, healthy choices, and even late-night food for those post-study cravings or casual meetups. Their small plates are perfect for sharing if you’re out with friends, and there’s a decent wine and spirits offering to go with it all.

In a city packed with eateries, Pan Pan keeps things authentic yet accessible. Whether you’re there for the spicy Japchae, the crunchy Karaage, or just sipping Bubble Tea while catching up on your day, it’s the kind of place that quickly becomes a regular stop for flavor seekers.

Came to this restaurant for dinner on Friday without a reservation and was seated at level 1 by the window. It has a good selection of Pan-Asian menu. We ordered tobboki, kimchi mee goreng, curry laksa, and bubble tea. A slight letdown by the curry laksa, as it didn't have the laksa flavour we're familiar with, but the rest were great.

Good location. Good ambience. Good and quick service. Large portions. Decent prices. But the food is bland. Not a lot of flavours. Seemed to me like a British version of Asian food. Tried their Pho, Bibimbap and Korean Fried Chicken. Would recommend the fried chicken- that was flavourful and good. The other two, for me, lacked some flavour. If you are not a big fan of spicy food, this is a good place for you.

Love, appropriate portion sizes. We were sat upstairs which was a lot quieter but downstairs was pretty noisy when we came down. We struggled to get wifi connection but we were on the second floor on a very hot day. Bathrooms were a bit dim though

We visited Pan Pan in Oxford on 12th October 2023, we didn't book, however, got a table straight away. The staff were friendly and professional, The menu had a good choice of food. The food was cooked well and very tasty. Parking isn't great as you need to find them locally but worth the walk. Definitely recommend this restaurant for eating and the restaurant is well designed and has a good atmosphere.

Not 100% authentic but pretty tasty for most of the main courses we ordered. Would love to have a bit more coconut milk in the laksa. Siu Mai was a bit weird because they were served with peanuts. Quite creative but not my cup of tea. Highly recommend the restaurant to add the real Hainanese chicken rice in their menu. They also offer bubble tea which is good.
